Needed: Adults to respond to the Climate Emergency, to listen to the call for help and support from our children and young adults!
“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time. Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. The ‘tide in the affairs of men’ does not remain at the flood; it ebbs. We may cry out desperately for time to pause in her passage, but time is deaf to every plea and rushes on. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residue of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: ‘Too late….’” – Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The children and young adults are extremely worried and concerned about their future; and rightly so. The reality is in most (not all) cases we are merely standing by while those who are motivated by greed destroy these children and young adults future as well as pushing us straight to extinction along with all other species.
Maybe pushing is not a good word to use as it implies resistance which many adults lack with their business-as-usual appeal. Perhaps we can say we are being willfully moved to a world without humans.
In any event, we are in a situation where those in power are complicit, that do not stand up for what is right, that base their alliance on those whose predominant nature is that of avarice.
We-the-people must without holding back or regret speak up and speak out, do things that lets those in power know we will not allow our children and humanity to perish due to greed.
We will as a first step invest our money in renewable and green solutions; we will not bank, shop, or buy from those who are either the very culprits or those complicit scrap-grabbers.
Change is coming as Greta said, her declaration at the Climate Summit was not only a passionate wake-up call, it was a slap across our faces to stand up with our children and young adults, to fight for their future and most of all to stand up to the very greedy injustice that is prevalent throughout the planet.
“Create your future from your future not your past.”- Werner Erhard
Please see the next blog post in about 30 minutes. I want to respond much stronger to these children and young adults call to action and therefore will do everything within my skill set to respond.
I will offer up numerous ideas, suggestions and more between now and Election Day that I hope will help us all be in solidarity. I plan to offer a 4-part idea that is very powerful and will help the economy and those who need it the most. It is just a suggestion (idea) so I hope it is ok that I share it.
We cannot and must not become individuals who care for our own little corner or homes without caring for those around the planet who are struggling much worse than we are. We have to become humanistic and care for others no matter where they are in this world.
There is a way we can help; there are ways to become more humanistic, there is value in each and every human being. I strongly feel we must always seek ways to be a part of the solution, each and every one of us. There are things we can do.
I will go more into details in the blog post(s) with some more suggestions and ideas. Aside from that please read and learn more about this climate crisis when possible, support financially and otherwise the various Climate Organizations and most of all let your children and young adults around you know you stand with them.
We are actually untied in that we, every single one of us have a common enemy which is this Climate Emergency. This is an opportunity to become even more untied in our fight for our very survival.
“When asked if I am pessimistic or optimistic about the future, my answer is always the same: if you look at the science about what is happening on earth and aren’t pessimistic, you don’t understand the data. But if you meet the people who are working to restore this earth and the lives of the poor, and you aren’t optimistic, you haven’t got a pulse.” – Martin Keogh
(Thanks for pointing out the error, I miss my proof reader yet I had to keep her at a distance for fear that the climate deniers & anti-science groups would do to her what they did to me… at least for now. This post was posted at 10:00 pm on 9.28.19 and updated on 9.29.19)
