due to habitat loss…

Wean yourself off palm oil. Up to 300 football fields of forest are cleared every single hour to make from for palm plantations. As a result, the orangutan population has decreased by 50 percent in just the past ten years due to habitat loss. Palm oil is commonly found in processed foods, such as cookies, ice cream, margarine, frozen pizza, crackers, pastries, candy, and chips. Palm oil can also be found in personal care and cosmetic items, so make sure to research the brands you use to see if they have committed to avoiding palm oil. If they haven’t, write to the brands you love to ask them to commit to sustainable palm oil. – Michelle Neff, Excerpt from her book: SIMPLE ACTS TO SAVE OUR PLANET, 500 WAYS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
