Glasgow Climate Change Conference (Official UNCCC Portal)

The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, UK.

In light of the worldwide effects of COVID-19, the COP Bureau of the UNFCCC, with the UK and its Italian partners, had decided to re-schedule the conference initially slated for November 2020. Rescheduling the conference ensures that all parties can focus on the issues to be discussed at this vital conference and allows more time for the necessary preparations to take place. We will continue to work with all involved to increase climate ambition, build resilience and lower emissions.

Activities of the governing bodies and informal events of the Presidencies were also convened.

With the opening of the sessions in Glasgow fast-approaching, the incoming COP 26 Presidency in collaboration with the COP 25 Presidency will continue to convene events and initiatives aimed at further advancing informal work ahead of Glasgow. Ministers will meet again at the pre-COP hosted by the Italian Government in Milan from 30 September to 2 October.  The incoming COP 26 Presidency has also identified pairs of Ministers to lead informal work in close collaboration with the Presidencies and the Chairs of the subsidiary bodies on some of the critical issues for Glasgow:
