CO2ok

Why we do it

In March 2017 our founder Milo was on the ski slope. He noticed a sign with the CO₂ emissions of a week of winter sports. How strange that you can’t compensate that, he thought. With a plane ticket you can. Once at home, he read in a study by CE Delft that goods and clothing have a greater impact on the environment than cars, planes and meat combined. Surely you should be able to compensate for that?

If the government doesn’t do anything, I’ll do it, Milo decided. He quit his job and enrolled at the Chamber of Commerce. So he started CO2ok on October 4, 2017. His goal? To enable everyone to make their online purchases climate-neutral. At the same time, he wants to raise the standard of living of people in Third World countries. In short: a win-win situation. In 2019 Lodi and Nick became co-owners of CO2ok. They have a commercial background and wanted to start their own business. They also wanted to use their knowledge for the environment. When they heard about CO2ok they were instantly enthusiastic. They phoned Milo and soon their collaboration was a fact. Milo is responsible for the ideas and the technology and Lodi and Nick for the operational management. Their dream? In five years’ time, all products will be produced in a climate-neutral way and compensation for your purchases will no longer be necessary. As a result, CO2ok has become superfluous.
