Navigating the Shared Canoe of Existence with Collective Wisdom
I believe our focus on the Climate Emergency should be as comprehensive and profound as our attention to other facets of life, both internal and external.
Considerations such as our well-being, employment, family dynamics, and spiritual beliefs monopolize our time and mental energy. Yet, in some regions, weather conditions either enhance our contentment or diminish it.
My thoughts are constantly drawn to climate change, which has escalated into a full-fledged Climate Emergency, precipitating what I term a ‘Green Emergency.’ This crisis is ravaging biodiversity, including oceanic ecosystems, with alarming consequences.
We are not always oblivious to the reality of the Climate Emergency, exacerbated primarily by the fossil fuel industry, which should be held accountable for the global damages incurred. However, grappling with this issue remains a challenge.
During a self-imposed hiatus, I aim to share insights and reflections on a frequent basis henceforth. While this platform has remained dormant for several years, I now welcome comments. However, due to the prevalence of hostile and dissenting voices, I exercise discretion in approving comments.
Critiques, particularly those opposing scientific consensus or advocating for fossil fuel interests, are prevalent. Yet, my views have evolved over time, prompting a shift in the blog’s focus to ‘thoughts of concern‘ regarding our collective response to the Climate Emergency.
Posts may vary in tone, ranging from subjective to objective, with the intention of fostering both dialogue and resilience in regard to anti-science and fossil fuel influence that prevents us from tackling our shared Climate Emergency full-force.
Stay tuned for updates, as I embark on a journey of self-education, aiming in time to contribute to a collectively authored manuscript titled the Green Emergency Manuscript (GEM), in collaboration with our book club community (launching February 2025).
Until next time, keep questioning, keep learning, and stay informed. A well-educated populace is essential in addressing the Climate and Green Emergency, fostering autonomy over blind obedience.
Farewell for now,
Tito
