Elders Climate Action: Our Response to the Election Results

No doubt we are all still processing what has happened and what it means for us, our country, and the world. In difficult times like these, we should be especially kind to ourselves and to each other as we grieve, recover from the shock, and seek new directions.

While the path forward will certainly present many new challenges, we at ECA remain undeterred in our pursuit of a just and livable future for all. Alongside large numbers of like-minded people dedicated to climate action, we are more committed than ever to building a resilient, inclusive movement.

We will not be deterred from our mission! We will channel our energy into a renewed sense of purpose and continue to invest our time and talents, advancing our mission and building collective power. We will continue to fight for ambitious climate action, strategically advocating for policies that advance a just and sustainable future.

This is a defining moment for our nation and our planet, and we call on all members, supporters and allies to join us in rising to the challenge with compassion, collaboration, and an unyielding commitment to building a future that leaves no one behind.

The stakes are higher than ever, and we don’t have the luxury to disengage. Regardless of what happens in Washington, much can still be done at the local and state level. That is where the real action takes place.

We can’t know what the future may bring, but we do know what we can choose to bring to the future. In solidarity for our grandchildren, future generations and all life,

ECA’s National Leadership Team

The mission of Elders Climate Action is to mobilize elders throughout the United States to address climate change while there is still time to protect the well-being of our grandchildren and future generations. We are dedicated to using the power of our caring, our wisdom and our numbers to push for strong policies that will reduce greenhouse gases in our atmosphere to a level consistent with life thriving on our planet. ECA is elder centered and volunteer driven, learn more or get involved at eldersclimateaction.org.
