(Please visit eXit235.com after reading this post for PART II. Also note the number of blog posts at this blog, you will see it immediately increase to about 2000 blog posts on the Climate Emergency, Self-Preservation, Adaptive Resiliency and other important topics. Note that I am sincerely working on saving my company Climate Change Community from closing due to lack of membership, so it would help if you read PART II of this post. Thank you. – Mr. Alvarez)
I am not making this shift because it has become too dangerous to speak about the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
While the rising tide of suppression makes it clear that voices like mine are being pressured into silence, my decision is not born out of fear. Instead, it is an evolution—an advancement of my Adaptive Resiliency philosophy to the next level. This change is not a reaction to recent intimidation or threats, which I acknowledge as a consequence of my own choices, but rather a natural and necessary progression.
For years, my heart and energy have been devoted to Climate Justice Advocacy—fighting for environmental protections, exposing corporate greed, and pushing for policies that safeguard our planet. While I still believe in those battles, an undeniable reality has emerged: the landscape of our society is shifting rapidly, requiring new approaches and strategies.
As soon as it became evident that an autocratic leader was dismantling institutions like the IRS, Social Security and other viable government departments, it was clear that millions—especially senior citizens—would be left vulnerable. These are people who have spent their lives trusting a system that now threatens to abandon them, putting entire families and the foundation of our society at risk.
This shift is an organic evolution from my focus on Climate Science and Adaptive Resiliency to now emphasizing both individual and community preservation. Moving forward, my content will center on practical solutions, innovations, and strategies for self-preservation.
Self-preservation is a multifaceted concept that operates on both personal and collective levels.
Under authoritarian rule, the obstacles to survival intensify, demanding that individuals and communities adapt, resist, and safeguard their well-being in an increasingly hostile environment. Understanding these dynamics is essential to navigating authoritarian structures and ensuring resilience. In fact, my training as a Climate Change Professional Officer has led me to see this transition as a logical next step in my journey.
A Shift in Focus: Protecting People Amidst a Changing Society
This is not merely about individual survival—it is about ensuring the survival of each other in a world that is shifting toward authoritarianism. If the most vulnerable fall, so do their children, their grandchildren, and the very foundation of our society.
The climate crisis persists, and the fossil fuel industry will eventually face the reckoning it deserves. However, my energy must now shift toward a new battle: protecting people from an increasingly unstable society.
A New Focus: Building a Resilient Society
With this transition, I will be transforming Climate Tribe (which may undergo a name change) into a fully realized Self-Preservation Club—a hub where individuals can access vital information, tips, share resources, and prepare for the challenges ahead. This is about real, practical survival in a world unraveling before our eyes.
As authoritarian control expands, more people will experience homelessness, food insecurity, and financial instability. Climate refugees will increase, not just due to natural disasters but also due to economic and political turmoil. In response, I will dedicate my work to teaching endurance strategies, fostering local support networks, and helping people navigate a system that no longer serves their best interests.
Some of the key questions I will be exploring:
- How are people coping with this unpredictable new reality and what can I do to help them?
- What tools and strategies can help families stay afloat?
- How can we protect our children from the social and economic consequences of this shift?
- What resources exist for senior citizens, and how can we ensure they are not left behind?
Perhaps the time for idealistic hope has passed. I don’t know. But what is certain is that the time for proactive action, preparation, and adaptation has arrived.
Survival in the Age of Control
It is no longer paranoia to acknowledge that we are moving toward a surveillance state, an economy of control, and a suppression of dissent. If you believe that major corporations won’t soon dictate who gets to eat, work, and live safely, look again.
To survive, people will need to adopt new methods:
- Bartering and boycotting will become necessary.
- Sustainable self-reliance will be critical.
- Alternative economies and support systems must be established.
Make no mistake: this is not fear-mongering—it is foresight. The systems we have relied upon are being dismantled. Self-preservation means preparing before the full force of these changes takes effect.
Addendum: A Personal Reflection and Next Steps
Some may say that I have made similar shifts before while still advocating for a net-zero world. That remains true. The difference now is that my focus has evolved from discussing the Climate Emergency to emphasizing Adaptive Resiliency, and now to prioritizing the well-being of people in light of our shifting society.
My new buzz word is now Self-Preservation.
A bit of history: I founded Climate Change Community LLC in 2017, enduring endless red tape to establish the company. Over the years, I have invested between $15,000 and $20,000 of my own money into this mission, earning just a single dollar in return. After much reflection, I have decided that I will more than likely sell the company, however I am still thinking about this.
In the meantime all child sites will be deleted, and Climate Tribe will undergo a rebranding (not decided yet). This transition will take time, but most of the changes I have planned to downgrade will happen. The existing blog content will be archived in a searchable format, preserving its accessibility at another blog location.
To support myself financially, I will continue working with sustainability-focused products and solutions through my upcoming online store and YouTube channel. On my channel, I will share ideas, suggestions, news, and self-preservation strategies tailored for seniors and parents.
The Future of My Work
The Self-Preservation Club (soon to be created) will be primarily a private, subscription-based space within Climate Tribe (which will soon be renamed, potentially to eXit235/community or something similar). The only public content I will continue to share will be via YouTube. It is important to note that this will be structured as a subscription-based club rather than a traditional community.
While those who have targeted me may claim victory in pushing me toward this shift, the reality is more complex. Yes, the fight in me has waned—but not due to their actions alone. My own and my family’s health issues now require greater attention. However, my commitment to helping others remains unwavering. Kindness, knowledge-sharing, and resilience are ingrained in my DNA, and that will not change. If anything, these qualities will only grow stronger.
Signing Off
I will always operate from a place of human dignity, fairness, kindness, compassion, and respect. Any attempts to strip me of these values say far more about those making the attempt than about me.
If I can quickly gather a strong membership base, I will also be able to financially support those within the club. Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts at eXit235.com.
