Since July 13, 2013, I have been under observation by unknown entities due to my Climate Justice Advocacy activities (mainly posting social media art). By August 2016, this surveillance escalated into a series of insidious attacks, including high-powered, illegal monitoring and more. Over time, these attacks intensified, particularly as elements of the religious far right became involved.
By 2018, I was on the verge of an emotional and nervous breakdown. I was already grappling with deep sorrow and depression due to personal family struggles, and the external assaults only compounded my distress. In my search for guidance, I turned to a trusted friend and senior mentor in my Buddhist practice. His response was unexpected yet profound:
“This struggle is good. It is an opportunity to change something fundamental in your life.”
At first, those words were difficult to accept, but over time, I realized their truth. As the attacks increased, so did my resolve. My Buddhist practice speaks of Human Revolution—a deep inner transformation that elevates one’s life condition. I found myself growing stronger, yet I still had setbacks. There were moments when I succumbed to negativity, failing to treat myself with the respect I deserved.
However, I made a determination: my response to these attacks would not be fear, hatred, or despair. Instead, my ultimate “revenge” would be to continuously evolve into a better version of myself. No matter how severe the attacks became, I resolved to emerge stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. I set my sights on becoming a Master of Adaptive Resiliency and Collective- and Self-Preservation. I vowed that if, one day, my attackers needed help in this domain, I would extend a hand rather than a fist.
The Path to Mastery
My journey toward this mastery has been rigorous. I immersed myself in extensive study, even completing training as a Climate Change Professional Officer, all with the goal of safeguarding the future for our children and helping to restore biodiversity.
I did not limit myself to climate science alone. I delved into psychology and sociology to understand the broader challenges humanity faces. I began documenting my insights, culminating in a series of AI-driven podcasts that compile my past and present notes.
This commitment to learning is not new. On August 24, 2016, I began writing GEM—short for Green Emergency Manuscript. At the time, I was engrossed in The Inner Philosopher by Daisaku Ikeda and Lou Marinoff and Peter Seidel’s There Is Still Time. I also printed and analyzed countless articles and absorbed the wisdom of The Earth Charter and Daisaku Ikeda’s Yearly Peace Proposals to the United Nations. My reading list extended to climate leaders like Bill McKibben, Naomi Klein and many others.
March 9, 2006, was the day my life pivoted. I had once aspired to be a professional percussionist, but that day, I committed to becoming climate-savvy instead.
By 2017, I had purchased multiple domains and LLCs, the primary one being Climate Change Community. Over time, I built numerous online communities, including Climate Tribe, to foster education, discussion, and action. Though not a cybersecurity professional, I’ve had to learn defensive strategies to protect my work from digital threats. As a retired tech support specialist, I continuously integrate technology with my mission to help others.
The Heart of My Practice: Helping Others
One of the greatest lessons my Buddhist practice, my mother, and my life mentors have taught me is this: People’s happiness and well-being should be our highest priority. Our children deserve protection, but more than that, they deserve a platform to express their ideas. History has shown us time and again that when young minds are nurtured in an ethical direction, their potential is boundless.
To my attackers, since you push me daily for some type of reaction—this blog post is it.
Listen, I hold no resentment—only respect and compassion (and oddly enough appreciation, without the attacks I might not have gone this far). While you seek to break me down, I remain unmoved because my purpose is greater than myself. I do not dwell on the pain you attempt to inflict; instead, I reflect on the weight such actions must place on your own conscience. When you are alone with your thoughts, do you ever wonder if this path serves your highest self?
Regardless, I remain resolute. I will continue on this path—not out of spite, but because it aligns with my deepest convictions. My progress is already evident in my blog and YouTube posts, and over time, I intend to expand my ability to help others in tangible ways, including financial support.
AI as a Tool for Self-Education and Mastery
One of the most powerful tools available for self-education today is artificial intelligence. AI has the potential to revolutionize personal development, guiding individuals in their journey toward becoming Masters of Adaptive Resiliency and Collective- and Self-Preservation.
AI can assist by:
- Providing personalized learning paths tailored to an individual’s strengths and areas for improvement.
- Synthesizing vast amounts of knowledge across disciplines, making interdisciplinary learning more accessible.
- Offering mentorship-like insights, simulating thought-provoking discussions that challenge our perspectives.
- Enhancing our ability to predict and adapt to crises, both personal and global, by analyzing historical data and patterns.
While AI does not replace human teachers, personal faith, or traditional learning, when used wisely, it can act as a tutor, an analytical assistant, and a strategic advisor—all in one. AI is not a replacement for human effort but an amplifier of it.
Moving Forward
When I speak of Master of Adaptive Resiliency and Collective- and Self-Preservation, I am not referring to a college course or a predefined career path. This is a new paradigm—a build-as-you-go philosophy rooted in self-education, experience, and action.
Anyone can embark on this journey. It begins with a commitment to learning, resilience, and service to others. At Climate Tribe, we provide a structured entry point with our three-tier Basic Plan, which includes:
- Green Tech Café – A space for discussing sustainable technology and innovation.
- The Book Club – Focused on critical readings that shape our understanding of climate, philosophy, and resilience.
- Active Resistance – A fusion of climate action and democratic preservation.
Before subscribing, I encourage you to explore my blog posts at exit235.com—they serve as the foundation for understanding the mission before taking the next step.
Final Thoughts
I will continue developing and sharing insights, including an upcoming project on Human Revolution, Daisaku Ikeda, and his Peace Proposals. My hope is that this exploration will provide people with a deeper understanding of their own evolution.
To those who have read this far—thank you. This is more than just my response to being attacked. It is my declaration of purpose.
