A Short Pause Here — and Where to Find Us Next

While I truly enjoy posting here on the WordPress side of the world, we’re taking a break for the next few months to post primarily on two other platforms: Climate Tribe Social (climatetribe.social) and SDL5 (SDL5.com or SDL5.org — same site).

Why the move?

Simple. We’ve been building both of these platforms for quite some time, and both are community-based by design.

SDL5 focuses on the Five Emergencies — learning about them, understanding them, and giving people room to express what they’re discovering. We call it Self-Directed Learning about the Five Emergencies, but it has grown into much more than that. It’s also the home of the Learning Out Loud series, and we’ve been developing some new, out-of-the-box features and strategies, all aimed at helping build a better planet.

Climate Tribe Social takes a broader, hands-on approach. It brings together experts, professionals, skilled tradespeople, teachers, emergency support services, scientists, parents, young adults, and many others. It’s a very large community, so large we often call it a city. To learn more about both, I strongly recommend reading the posts about them at Climate Change Community (climatechangecommunity.com) and Adaptive-Resiliency.info.

What happens to this site?

This site is now closed to regular posting, but it won’t go completely quiet. I’ll still share announcements here, along with causes we’re asked to amplify, such as the next No Kings protest on October 17th, taking place in cities around the world.

Opening dates

Our current targets (Public Access) are on or about December 21st for Climate Tribe Social and on or about January 2nd for SDL5. That order may well reverse. I’ve made major progress on SDL5, and it could open much earlier. I’m not committing to a date yet, but it could be as early as the day after the U.S. midterm elections, or Thanksgiving Day.

More good things coming to SDL5

Milly-cafe holds a remarkable number of posts that help young adults in many ways, especially in building emotional intelligence and maturity. Several of our other retired or resting sites also hold many helpful, encouraging posts. We’re working on bringing all of them into SDL5 so they can keep serving people.

Where things stand right now

  • Climate Tribe Social is opening new Spaces almost every Sunday and is now inviting its founding members.
  • SDL5 is being finalized and double-checked.
  • I’m also hard at work on other projects that I’ll announce in time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In short: tito235.com (tito235.wordpress.com) will only receive announcements for now. SDL5.com will temporarily be the new home for the kind of posts I usually share here, with some going to Climate Tribe Social.
