Target Opening: August 24, 2026

I had two separate posts ready for today—one about the Climate Tribe Social Response Hub and one about SDL5’s Founding 100.

But the more I looked at them, the more I felt they belonged together.

They are different projects, and I do not want to blur that distinction. But they are also two doorways into the same larger hope: helping people learn, connect, prepare, cooperate, and become more resilient as the Climate and Ecological Emergency continues unfolding around us.

So today I want to talk about both.

And I want to be honest about something right from the start:

😬 I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m a little scared. And I’m still moving forward.

🚨 THE RESPONSE HUB — WHY THIS ONE FEELS PERSONAL

The Climate Emergency Control Center’s Response Hub inside Climate Tribe Social is still one of the projects closest to my heart.

I am building it for people, households, groups, and communities that want ideas and assistance as they think about climate preparedness, movement toward net zero, and stronger long-term resilience.

I am not opening it because I think I have all the answers. I don’t.

I am not an engineer, financial adviser, lawyer, or person with decades of climate-professional experience. I am still learning, still studying, still building confidence, and still trying to become more useful.

But I have come to believe that being useful does not require pretending to be the person who knows everything.

🧭 A navigator helps people understand where they are, explore possible paths, organize their questions, find better information, and move forward with greater confidence.

That is what I want the Response Hub to become.

Someone may know solar. ☀️ Someone else may know energy efficiency. 🏠 Another person may understand transportation, food systems, emergency preparation, local programs, public policy, grants, community organizing, or simply what worked—and what absolutely did not work—in their own neighborhood.

🤝 Put those people together, and individual knowledge can begin becoming collective capacity.

🌱 I’M STILL BECOMING THE PERSON I WANT TO BE IN THIS WORK

I also want to correct something from my earlier draft.

My professional goal is not a credential called “Climate Change Professional Officer.” The ACCO credential I have been working toward is the Certified Climate Change Professional (CC-P®).

Beyond any credential, I want to grow into work centered on adaptive resiliency—especially work that can benefit low- to middle-income communities and people who often have the fewest resources available when disruption arrives.

I’m not there yet.

I still need experience. I still need confidence. I still have a lot to learn.

But I do have passion, purpose, curiosity, and a serious desire to become useful.

I’m not trying to become rich or famous from this work. I want it to help protect lives.

I want to keep developing what I call ProActive-Reactive Blueprints: practical ways of thinking about what we can do before, during, and after climate-related disruption while reducing emissions and strengthening resilience for the long term.

That is part of my continuing journey toward Adaptive Resiliency through Self- and Collective-Preservation. 📚🌍

🌎 THEN THERE IS SDL5 — THE CLIMATE TRIBE VILLAGE

SDL5.org has now become my primary community build.

I think of it as another doorway—not a replacement for the Response Hub.

SDL5 is broader. It is being organized around five connected emergencies:

• The Climate Emergency 🌡️
• The Ecological / Green Emergency 🌿
• The Democracy-Based Emergency 🗳️
• The Humanity-Centered Emergency 🤝
• The Climate Refugee Emergency 🏘️

It is for someone who may be saying:

“I care. I’m concerned. I want to learn. I want to connect. I want to be part of the conversation and the response—but I’m not necessarily ready to rebuild my life around a net-zero transition tomorrow morning.”

That is okay.

That is enough to begin.

The phrase guiding SDL5 says a lot about what I want it to become:

🌱 Climate knowledge, community resilience, and a stronger future for the next generation.

💯 WHY THE FOUNDING 100?

If the final work goes well, I’m aiming for a light SDL5 opening on August 24 with the Founding 100.

Why only 100?

Because I have learned something important: bigger is not automatically better.

I would rather have a smaller group that helps me discover what works, where the site is confusing, which Spaces matter, what people actually use, and what needs fixing than rush to fill a community before the foundation is ready.

Ten people who genuinely care can teach me something. Twenty-five can create connections. Fifty can reveal patterns. One hundred can begin showing us what the village might become.

And I need to be very clear: August 24 is a target, not a guarantee.

If SDL5 needs more time because of performance, security, safety, or the member experience, I will use the current September 7 fallback instead of forcing it open.

I used to put too much pressure on dates. I’m trying to build differently now.

🌱 SEED, SAPLING, AND FOREST

The membership structure has also become clearer.

🌱 Seed — free, an exploration and visitor level.

🌿 Sapling — planned at $12 per year, an affordable and respected participation membership.

🌳 Forest — planned at $25 per year, the standard full-access membership.

I do not want Sapling framed as a hardship tier or a label placed on somebody’s income. It is simply a lower-cost way to participate.

The member experience is being designed around a clear dashboard, orientation, learning pathways, accessible Spaces, rules, reporting, account management, and support—not around piling on features just because software lets me add them.

🏘️ THE HOOD MATTERS TO ME

One part of SDL5 that I especially care about is The Hood.

The Hood is intended to keep lower-income communities and neighborhoods visible in the conversation—not as an afterthought, but near the center of it.

Climate disruption does not affect everyone equally. Research assessed by the IPCC finds disproportionate burdens on low-income households, and EPA analyses have documented disproportionate harms among socially vulnerable communities.

Energy costs. Housing. Transportation. Food insecurity. Pollution. Displacement. Access to resources. Safety. Preparedness.

Those are not side issues.

They are part of what climate resilience has to mean in real life.

🚪 SO WHICH DOORWAY IS FOR YOU?

🚨 Climate Tribe Social / Response Hub

If you are ready to explore practical climate response, preparedness, movement toward net zero, and possible next steps, this is the more focused doorway.

Think: “Help me figure out where I can start—and let’s work through it together.”

🌎 SDL5 / The Climate Tribe Village

If you care about the Five Emergencies and want to learn, connect, talk, cooperate, and become part of a community—even if you are not ready for an active net-zero transition yet—this may be your doorway.

Think: “I care. I want to understand more. I want to connect. I want to take part.”

And yes, someone may eventually belong in both.

🏡 I’VE ALSO LEARNED TO BUILD LESS

This may be one of the biggest changes in where I am right now.

I used to think movement meant constantly adding more.

Now I think resilience also means knowing what not to carry.

So Climate Change Community LLC has deliberately consolidated.

🌐 ClimateChangeCommunity.com is the stable mother site.

🤝 ClimateTribe.Social houses the Response Hub.

🌎 SDL5.org is my primary current community build.

✍️ tito235.wordpress.com is where I can write more personally and consolidate creative work.

🛍️ GreenRumba.com remains the storefront piece.

Fewer sites. Better focus. Less stress. Stronger organization. More meaningful attention to what remains.

That lesson applies to websites—but honestly, it applies to life too.

💚 AUGUST 24 — IF WE’RE READY

So here we are.

August 24 is getting close.

I am nervous because this matters to me. I am hopeful because I can finally see how the pieces fit together more clearly. And I am cautious because I do not want enthusiasm to turn into promises I cannot responsibly keep.

🌍 The Response Hub is still planned for August 24.

🌱 SDL5 is aiming for a light Founding 100 opening on August 24, with September 7 as the fallback if it needs more work.

I do not need everything to be perfect.

But I do need to keep learning, keep listening, protect people’s trust, and build at a pace I can actually sustain.

🌱 Start where we are.
🤝 Learn together.
🧭 Navigate together.
🏘️ Keep struggling communities visible.
🌍 Build resilience together.

I don’t know exactly what these communities will become.

That is not a weakness.

It is an invitation.
